Ask any Nepali what their favorite food is, and chances are they'll say: momo. These juicy dumplings have become a national obsession, enjoyed by all ages and found on every corner—from street stalls to fine-dining restaurants.
Originating from Tibetan cuisine, momos have evolved into a distinct Nepali classic. Traditionally stuffed with minced meat or vegetables and served with spicy tomato achar, there are now countless variations: steam momo, fried momo, jhol (soup) momo, kothey (pan-fried), and even cheese or chocolate momo!
What makes momo so special is not just its taste, but the experience. It’s a dish that brings friends and families together, whether it's for a casual hangout or a festival gathering.
In Nepal, momo isn’t just food—it’s an emotion.
